Bormio Collection
An “light” design suitable for any environment
The Bormio fence, made entirely of Corten® steel, consists of a 76-mm-diameter handrail and a varying number of 30-mm-diameter rails.
A collection that adapts to any environment, although it is more traditionally used in urban settings to demarcate sidewalks, parking lots, bridges and walkways, cycling paths and public gardens.
While conveying and providing a high level of protection, it still stands out for its “lightness” and non-invasiveness.
The advantages of Bormio fences
The Bormio collection ensures the main advantages of all Cortensafe systems:
- Allows for slight bends and changes in gradient to be made without further machining or modification of its various components;
- Eliminates the need for maintenance;
- Is quickly and easily assembled.
The model with nine rails and with a post inclined about 10° inward can also serve as a railing.

The advantages of Corten® steel
Strength and durability
Corten® possesses high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance properties. It is a material that ‘self-protects’ by forming a surface patina that prevents corrosion from spreading and ensures ‘eternal’ durability.
Lower overall costs
Due to its greater mechanical strength, reduced thicknesses can be used, resulting in weight reduction. Corten® also reduces maintenance costs compared to wooden solutions.
Timeless beauty
The oxidative patina gives Corten® a warm and elegant brownish hue, allowing it to harmoniously blend into its surroundings, both in natural settings and in many architectural scenarios.
Environmental Sustainability

Bormio Collection – Success Stories
Permanent solutions for the municipality of Castel d’Aiano
To replace a wooden fence that had become totally unstable, the Bologna municipality chose the Bormio model of Corten® steel fence.
We asked Gabriele Verucchi, Councillor with Delegated Responsibilities for Heritage and Public Works Management, for some details on the work performed.

The Bormio fence lights up with LEDs
In Caldiero, in the province of Verona, the [LED lighting] system has been integrated into a Bormio model fence, equipped with upper handrail and three additional thin rails, in a typical urban lighting enhancement project that will benefit all road users, starting with pedestrians.
Safety and aesthetics for a new parking lot in the municipality of Pecetto di Valenza
Corten® steel railing, model Bormio H9C by Cortensafe, was chosen in the construction of a new parking lot in the historic center of Pecetto di Valenza (AL). We put some questions to the Mayor, Andrea Bortoloni, who expressed great satisfaction with the final result.
