The ability to meet any construction site request
The installation of our solutions is practical and straightforward thanks to the design of specific fixing systems that meet the many requirements found at a construction site.
All in-ground fixings are designed to avoid standing water conditions, thus ensuring maximum durability of the material and eliminating maintenance operations.
Cortensafe is also a removable system: our products, whether installed using a post support system or with UNP and pile drivers, can be easily removed and repositioned.
For fastening to a concrete curb, the standard systems include steel base or side brackets, equipped with special adjustment slots and fastening dowels.
Our Engineering Department, however, can customise the type of fixing depending on the curb and/or the position of the fence or railing.
We can also use pre-existing anchoring systems, as we can adapt our fences and railings to the anchoring system used for the previous railing.
Types of fixing systems
Fixing with UNP and pile driver
Installation
UNP profiles are set directly into the ground using a pile driver. The tubular posts with pre-drilled holes are then fixed using the screws supplied. This system speeds up installation of all of our fencing and railing solutions.

- 1It ensures the formation of the protective patina on all of the post’s surface and therefore makes the material last longer;
- 2The system with UNP and pile driver speeds up installation of all our fencing and railing systems and makes them safe for the user;
- 3It is a dry-installation system that does not require excavations or the use of concrete, and is therefore very competitive in terms of cost;
- 4It is a removable system, convenient when embankment or waterway clearing operations are required or in the event of an emergency.
Supplied in the following standard lengths: 1,000 – 1,200 – 1,500 mm

Concreted-in UNP fixing
Installation
Narrow holes are made in the ground or on the curb using a mechanical auger, an excavator or a core drill. The holes are then filled with concrete or mortar and the UNP profiles are set into them.
Then, the tubular posts with pre-drilled holes are fixed to the profiles using the screws supplied.
Main advantages
- 1It ensures the formation of the protective patina on all of the post’s surface and therefore makes the material last longer;
- 2The UNP to which the post is fixed can be set in a small narrow hole in cement;
- 3It is ideal for when a pile driver can’t be used, or for small in-ground installations;
- 4The UNP is also ideal for being set in old or worn curbs where plugs won’t guarantee grip;
- 5It is a removable system, convenient when embankment or waterway clearing operations are required or in the event of an emergency.

Fixing with post support and clamps
Installation
The rebar post supports are set in wet concrete or in resin, or the post support is set in resin on concrete curbs or walls. Alternatively, narrow holes are made in the ground using a mechanical auger or excavator, and the holes are then filled with concrete and the post supports are set into them.
Then, the tubular posts with pre-drilled holes are fixed to the post supports via the clamps supplied.

- 1It ensures the formation of the protective patina on all of the post’s surface and therefore makes the material last longer;
- 2The post support to which the post is fixed can be set in a small narrow cement foundation or on any reinforced concrete curb;
- 3Once a hole is made, the post support can be resin-coated on any concrete base;
- 4It allows to adapt to small gradient changes, as for example on curbs, without requiring the use of plates customised to ensure the post’s uprightness.
- 5It is easy and quick to install, and it is also a removable system, convenient when embankment or waterway clearing operations are required or in the event of an emergency.

Narrow foundation with concrete
Installation
Narrow holes are made in the ground with a mechanical auger or excavator, then filled with mortar or concrete and the posts are set in them.
With this kind of fixing system it is necessary to ensure water drainage so that water does not stand at the base of the posts.

Fixing with base bracket
Installation
The system envisages the supply of posts with the bracket already welded to the base, complete with slots for position adjustment and with specific fixing plugs, depending on whether the structure is a fence or a railing. Installation requires the use of a percussion drill and of an impact wrench.

- 1It ensures the formation of the protective patina on all of the post’s surface and therefore makes the material last longer;
- 2This system is indispensable for the installation of parapets (a.k.a. railings or guardrails) certified for horizontal force testing as per standards NTC 2018 and/or UNI EN 1317-6;
- 3Ideal for fences to be installed on concrete curbs or walls;
- 4For any product, Cortensafe produces posts with plate inclined according to the gradient of the route. All posts will therefore be perfectly vertical with respect to the surface of the cycleway/pedestrian walkway;
- 5It is easy and quick to install, and it is also a removable system, convenient when embankment or waterway clearing operations are required or in the event of an emergency.

Fixing with side bracket
Installation
The system envisages the supply of posts with the bracket already welded to the base, complete with slots for position adjustment and with specific fixing plugs, depending on whether the structure is a fence or a railing. Installation requires the use of a percussion drill and of an impact wrench.

- 1It ensures the formation of the protective patina on all of the post’s surface and therefore makes the material last longer;
- 2Can be customised based on the designer’s or client’s drawings;
- 3Can be used also for installing railings, on request with horizontal force testing as per NTC 2018 standards;
- 4The customised bracket is a solution for particular (and sometimes very old) curbs, or when the standard plates cannot withstand the required loads. Ideal for both fences and railings.
Thanks to tube and sheet laser cutting and press bending technologies, on request Cortensafe can customise fixing systems down to the smallest detail.
For example:
- Obliquely cut posts;
- Cuts on the tubular posts;
- Brackets bent to exactly fit the curb.

Setting in pre-prepared hole
Installation
Cup-shaped holes or holes with cups made of PVC piping, for example, are made in the curb. According to need, the posts can be fixed using chemical resins or with grout.
With this kind of fixing system it is necessary to make sure that water drainage is ensured so that it does not stand at the base of the posts.
