Cervino Collection H2BP road barrier for H2 bridge side protection: double protection, double advantage
The H2 Cervino H2BP-1 and H2BP-2 H2 bridge side protection barrier protects the motorist by ensuring vehicle restraint and also protect pedestrians and cyclists flanking the bridge because they are free of blunt and sharp parts that could injure them in the event of a fall.
Performance and Certifications
Both H2 road barrier models are 110 cm high and are CE certified according to UNI EN 1317-5. The Cervino H2BP-2 barrier, being equipped with Corten® grating, can also serve as a pedestrian railing.
Both models of the bridge side protection barrier have a normalized working width of W4, following the performance of crash tests in accordance with European standards UNI EN 1317-1 and 2.

H2 road barrier: CE marking and UNI EN 1317 standard
In order to ensure the proper performance of road safety systems such as bridge side protection barriers, their production and installation must undergo the controls stipulated in UNI EN 1317-5, namely:
- Initial Type Testing (ITT);
- Factory Production Control (FPC).
In the presence of this conformity, accredited certifying bodies allow the application of the CE Marking that specifies that the product complies with the requirements of the harmonized standard and can circulate freely on the European Union market.
Road barriers are crash-tested in accordance with European standards UNI EN 1317-1 and 2, aimed at certifying the achievement of two main results:
- Light vehicles: impact absorption;
- Heavy vehicles: vehicle restraint and deflection.
EU regulations refer to both mechanical-type quantities such as ASI (the acceleration severity index), theoretical evaluation parameters, and geometric-type information such as working width class (W).
